In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Mary Brickell played a crucial role in the development of Colee Hammock and Beverly Heights, two beautiful neighborhoods she thoughtfully platted and helped bring to life. Her strategic land acquisitions and unwavering determination significantly influenced the growth of our city.
Among her many accomplishments, Mary Brickell persuaded Henry Flagler to extend his Florida East Coast Railway south from Palm Beach—an expansion that was instrumental in our city’s transformation.
Today, we live and gather in the very neighborhoods she imagined, a lasting testament to her remarkable legacy of foresight, courage, and community-building.

April General Meeting
Our commissioner, Ben Sorensen is our speaker – so mark your calendars! We do not have a meeting scheduled for March.
Broward County Waterway Cleanup
This coming Saturday, Broward County will be having their 48th Annual Water Cleanup. The Himmarshee Waterway has been a site for decades and has seen many changes over the years.
Free T Shirts with this year's design will be handed out the morning of the event, as well as gloves and tickets to the trash bash which is the party held after the event.
It usually only takes us an hour or so it's not a huge commitment of time. If you have children who need service hours for school, this is a great event for them to pick up 4 hours.
